Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation

Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation consists in sound emission on a set rhythm and frequency. The external auditory cueing lead to improvement of deficient internal timing and restauration of physiological gait.

Its major action mechanism is based on a stimulation of central nervous system and the basal ganglia. These structures assist rhythm processing and afford to develop a stable and fluid gait.

Regarding the clinical results, the RAS shows a significant improvement of gait parameters and a diminution of stride variability.

Among studies that highlight the efficacy of the SRA in Parkinson disease, no one report occurrence of adverse effects.
